ColdPoint CS Console WSHPs In Stock with Field-Reversible LH/RH Connections
RapidHVACParts.com stocks ColdPoint Adirondack-Aire CS console water source heat pump chassis for commercial replacement and retrofit projects. These CS console units can be configured in the field to accommodate either a left-hand or right-hand connection orientation.
Field reversibility matters when the existing console cabinet, piping arrangement, or room layout requires a specific handed configuration. Instead of ordering and stocking separate left-hand and right-hand chassis, contractors can reverse the appropriate components in the field using ColdPoint’s published CS Field Reversing Procedure.

ColdPoint Adirondack-Aire CS Console WSHPs In Stock
ColdPoint CS-series console chassis are designed for replacement applications where an existing commercial console water source heat pump has failed, but the cabinet and surrounding installation may remain usable.
When properly matched, a CS replacement chassis can help contractors retain compatible portions of the existing installation instead of replacing the complete console cabinet and rebuilding the surrounding space.
RapidHVACParts.com stocks selected CS-series capacities and voltages for commercial service, planned replacement programs, multifamily properties, hotels, offices, senior living facilities, and other buildings using console water source heat pumps.
- Stocked replacement equipment: Selected CS console chassis are available from our warehouse inventory.
- Current refrigerant platform: Available CS replacement models use R-454B refrigerant.
- Field-reversible configuration: The same chassis can be arranged for left-hand or right-hand installation requirements.
- Commercial replacement support: Our team can review the existing model, voltage, capacity, cabinet, controls, and connection arrangement.
- Free shipping: Free nationwide shipping is included on eligible ColdPoint CS console orders.
One CS Console Chassis for Left-Hand or Right-Hand Connections
Connection orientation can become a problem when replacing console water source heat pumps across an existing building. One room may require left-hand connections while another requires right-hand connections, even when the capacity and voltage are otherwise the same.
The ColdPoint CS field-reversing design reduces the need to maintain separate left-hand and right-hand chassis inventories. The mounting bracket, control panel, control-panel housing, filler panel, and internal baffle can be repositioned to support the required orientation.
This gives contractors more flexibility when equipment schedules are incomplete, existing units have been modified, or field conditions do not match the original project documentation.
How the CS Field-Reversing Procedure Works
ColdPoint’s procedure uses seven primary steps to change the console orientation. The work should be completed by a qualified HVAC technician familiar with the equipment and the project’s required left-hand or right-hand arrangement.
Relocate the Mounting Bracket
The procedure begins by removing the six screws securing the mounting bracket. The bracket is removed, retained, and later installed on the opposite side of the chassis.
Move and Rotate the Control Panel
The four control-panel screws are removed so the panel can be rotated 180 degrees and installed on the opposite side. ColdPoint states that the same general process applies to remote-thermostat configurations and units using mounted bezel controls.
Reinstall the Mounting Bracket
After the control panel is repositioned, the mounting bracket is installed on the opposite side using the original six screws.
Relocate the Control-Panel Housing
The plastic plug is pushed out from inside the cabinet, and the control-panel housing is removed by lifting from the front first.
Move the Filler Panel
Where a filler panel is used, its four internal screws are removed. The filler panel is then installed on the opposite side using the same hardware.
Reposition the Internal Baffle
The baffle mounting plates are loosened or removed, allowing the filler plate and baffle to be repositioned at the opposite end of the cabinet. The mounting plates and filler panel are then secured again.
Reassemble the Control Housing
The control-panel housing is reinstalled by inserting the upper rear tabs first. The plastic plug is then returned to the housing frame to complete the field-reversing process.
Why Field-Reversible Console Connections Matter
- Fewer chassis configurations to stock: One properly selected CS model can support either left-hand or right-hand installation requirements.
- More flexibility at the jobsite: The equipment can be adjusted when the actual room configuration differs from the equipment schedule.
- Reduced ordering risk: Contractors are less likely to be left with the correct capacity and voltage but the wrong handed orientation.
- Easier building-wide replacement programs: A common chassis can be used across rooms with different connection layouts.
- Faster replacement planning: Field reversibility helps reduce delays caused by handedness questions during equipment selection.
- Less unnecessary demolition: A properly matched replacement can help retain the existing cabinet and surrounding room finishes.
Confirm Handedness Before Installation
Although the CS chassis is field reversible, the required orientation should still be confirmed before installation begins. Left-hand and right-hand terminology can be misunderstood unless everyone is viewing the equipment from the same reference point.
Review the existing unit and confirm:
- Complete manufacturer and model number
- Required capacity
- Unit voltage
- Existing cabinet dimensions
- Water connection location
- Electrical and line-cord arrangement
- Unit-mounted or remote controls
- Required left-hand or right-hand orientation
- Any required hoses, adapters, valves, or accessories
Clear photographs of the existing nameplate, cabinet, controls, and connection side are useful when requesting a replacement recommendation.
Replacement Applications for ColdPoint CS Consoles
ColdPoint CS-series console chassis are available for selected replacement applications involving existing console equipment from manufacturers such as ClimateMaster, Carrier, Bosch, Johnson Controls, McQuay, Trane, WaterFurnace, Florida Heat Pump, Islandaire, and Ice Air.
Compatibility is application-specific. Do not select a replacement based only on nominal BTU capacity. The original model number, cabinet geometry, voltage, controls, connection orientation, water connections, and required accessories must be reviewed before ordering.
